Mind vs. Feel, Which type of fighter you are?

Hello readers,

Thank you for all the emails and comments that I received. Yes, I will keep on posting as long as there are readers out there who are willing to spend their time at this blog.

Anyway, I found this topic interesting to me since I have seen many coaches and masters have different opinion on this subject. For me, there are three types of fighter in the ring.

First, who is always use the mind power in which the fighter will plan every moves in his head prior to engagement. Normally, this type less jog because the mind is busy thinking what to do next. This type of fighter require luck to be on his side since he or she needs the opponent to play the game according to his or her rules. Chances that the opponent might not fall for the bait is high and most probably things might not goes as planned. This technique can be used if you are facing a non experience opponent who can easily falls into your trap setup by your mind. This is when the fighter is set to control the game to win or otherwise.

Second Type is a natural born fighter who has its own reflect and react to every moves naturally. Many best TKD fighters out there have this ability where they do not plan their moves while sparring. This type of fighters jog alot and just move into the rythm and flow according to the situation. Many good fighters do not even know that their legs just move by itselfs performing the kicks. It is like the DNA code of the body is already embedded with the martial arts programs and kicks in anytime. Most of them would have speed and agility which is way more superior than the fisrt type. However, this type of fighter will esily get into the trap of the first type and most of the time will follow the opponent rythm. This is because the fighter did not set the scene of the fight and only moves or react according to instinct.

The Third Type is the best fighter where it combines both the first and second types. The game will be robust and unpredictable. The opponent will have hard time when facing this kind of fighter. For first type (Mind) of fighter, the game plan just wont work since the fighter knows the stage is a setup. This 3rd type of fighter will have its own rythm and mostly stay kewl in the center of the ring with just a little bit of jog but normally react with a massive blow such as backswing. And for the second type of fighter (feel), they will be outsmart and falls into the trap of the mind and speed when they meet this hybrid fighter. So, there you have it. To be the best you need to have both criterias but fighters are normally was born with either one of these types. So, identify yourself and start to learn the other side of you. Such a fighter with this ability is Bruce Lee.
